Always access charged batteries or replace household non-rechargeable batteries with rechargeable batteries. XTAR provides ample charging slots and flexibility with the VC8. The VC8 can charge a wide range of Li-Ion, NiMH and NiCd batteries including the 20700 and 21700 sizes in PCB Protected version. XTAR expands the VC series with an 8-bay charger the VC8

With 8 independently functioning charging bays, for operation on a QC (Quick Charge) (400613). Power supply or any 5V USB port.
Determination of the actual discharge capacity, discharging of the batteries to the nominal voltage in order to protect the batteries during longer storage periods, charging of 20700 and 21700 batteries in PCB protected version or built-in QC (Quick Charge).The XTAR VC8 has a built-in QC processor to achieve full 4A total power (only with QC USB power supply), a redesigned elegant display and a robust USB C input.
 

Compatibility, flexibility and individual settings make the XTAR VC8 an all-rounder. 

Compatible with all 5V USB power supplies and USB car adapters, input voltage and charging current are intelligently identified and adjusted. A special feature of the VC series is the manual charging current setting (3A / 2A / 1A 0.5A or 0.25A) the XTAR VC8 can detect, display and charge Ni-MH and Li-Ion batteries at the same time. The large, clear display shows: charging current, battery voltage, battery type, charged or discharged capacity in mAh of all battery compartments according to the set cycle.

Technical information and notes

The charging speed (charging current) of the batteries depends on the USB power supply. It is possible to select a weaker USB power supply, however, charging of the batteries is no longer possible at full current.

At 0V the charger reports "Err".
Above 0V the charger estimates Ni/MH batteries and starts charging. This estimation is changed to Li-Ion as soon as the battery voltage reaches Li-Ion values.
Below 1.8 V, the charger assumes Ni/MH.
Above 1.8 V, the charger assumes Li-Ion.
After a power failure or insertion of the battery, charging continues.
When the unit is not connected to the power supply, approx. 1 mA is consumed by a Li-Ion and 0.1 A by a Ni/MH battery.
The mAh - indicator flashes "Full" when the corresponding battery is full and the LED is green.

Charger design:

The VC8 basically consists of 2 chargers in one housing: slots 1 to 4 correspond to "charger 1" slots 5 to 8 correspond to "charger 2".

Each charger is controlled by 2 buttons (separately controlled) and has its own LCD display. These also work independently of each other

Charger No. 1 (i.e. slots 1 to 4) = has a charge / test / storage mode (all slots in "Charger No. 1" have the same mode, e.g. all are only in test or storage mode whichever has been set)

Charger no. 2 (i.e. slots 5-8) = has only charging function
